Representatives of the environmentalist cooperatives of the state Bolivar, presented/displayed projects to reforest part of the environmental area affected by the small disorderly mining, but they complain which to two years later, they have not had answer. They informed that the problems caused by the intervention of the forest, especially in small mining, appear within the programs of originating financing of the Law of Special Economic Allocations - Laee-, that orders to destine 10% assigned to nonoil regions, to take care of these needs, but in the state Bolivar, this legal mandate is not being fulfilled.

The declaration formulated engineer Pedro Vielma, representative of the block of environmentalist cooperatives, that was in company of Antonio Rivas, of the cooperative African Palm of this municipality.

- The environmentalist cooperatives - it said presented/displayed 30 projects of financing, before the Institute of Mines Bolivar. The projects presented/displayed the 40 cooperatives, which have in their majority to ex- miners who take refook in the program of Reconversion. The presented/displayed projects are for beginning of the recovery of areas affected in the river basins of the rivers Cuyuni and CaronĂ. The cost of the requests is of approximately 12 million strong bolivars. The proposal is for recovering 450 hectares of 25 thousands that have been affected in the river basins of the mentioned rivers other places of Bolivar.

The Law anticipates the resources

Vielma expressed its surprise of which 10% are not being destined that Laee anticipates for the nonoil regions.

It specified that 10% of the originating resources of Laee for the regions must destine them for programs of environmental recovery. In both last years, these resources have not been assigned.

- This problem - we are considering it added it, the community of environmentalist socialist cooperatives of the region.

The Law says that this allocation is until the 2010. We have talked with the governor of Bolivar, Francisco Rangel Go'mez who has said to us that is going away to solve, but does not arrive the solution.

I want to refer that the 25 thousand affected hectares and we have which them in inventory, burning fires do not correspond to other damages, as and cuttings with farming aims, said.

Seedtime of a million trees

Our informants express who even though do not arrive the resources for the referred environmental recovery, the cooperatives stay collaborating with the programs that the Ministry of the Atmosphere starts up.

Indeed, Atmosphere has arranged that during this year a million trees stand.

They reforest the dam San Pedro

The informant said soon, that of the quota of the million trees to plant, today Saturday 4,500 little trees in the dam will be seeded San Pedro de Tumeremo.

In this sowing they will be participating, the Mission Tree, Mayorship Bolivariana de Sifontes, National Guard, environmentalist cooperatives and others.

The species to seed will be of cedar, mahogany, pardillo and others. One inquired that the trees will be seeded in the beach of the dam San Pedro, especially in the affected part but.
