I don't think there is anything specific. Dictators even those elected are a self destructive breed. Hugo started off as a man of the people but as they say power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. This has been the case in every dictatorship. We don't understand Hugo's actions because we don't understand why his desire for power has over-ridden his desire to raise his people up from poverty. He has chosen personal power over national freedom. This is typical.

What did we see in Iran. Achmadijanen originally was a man of the peopl but lost his way when consumed by power. Unfortuntately we are seeing some of this obsession with power in our own (US) government.

This is why we are confounded that the best solution for VZ is a permit for KRY but that seems completely out of the question. This is logical but the obsession with power is not. Whatever we get from our KRY investment will be forced upon VZ. My hope an the reason I stay invested is that I beleive there are enough sane people in the VZ govt that will be able to force a resolution before we go to arbitration.
