The Enterprise Alliance of Guayana within the framework abrió analysis on the expropriations of the crisis
The subject of the crisis in Guayana continues giving of what to speak and still reduces much fabric that to cut. Under this perspective the forum was celebrated “Expropriation: Solution to the economic crisis of Guayana” this Friday in the audience of the School Loyola Gumilla in Ordaz Port.

The subjects boarded by the rapporteurs invited by the Enterprise Alliance turned around the economic context in which it develops the government and his relation with the private sector.

Fernando Goyonechea, member of the organizing committee of the event, was in charge to give the welcome to the forum with a summary of the present economic panorama of the region; also he presented/displayed the guests: the economist Orlando Ochoa, who talked on the economic model that frames the expropriation figure; and Néstor Borjas Duarte, president of Fedecámaras Zulia, that spoke of the recent expropriations undertaken in the West of the country.

Guayana in background
For Orlando Ochoa the crisis in Guayana directly is related to the ideological direction that has been drawn from the national Government to the economic subject.

Within the context of outlined economic imbalance in the forum that removed to shine the monetary devaluation, the high inflation and the lack of incentives to the foreign investment because of the own expropriations, Ochoa expressed that “the companies of Guayana depend more than ever on a good management and the high capacity and technological update to be able to fight with an atmosphere of high costs”.

“The Government has not established any line of managemental reform that he indicates that if more resources in Guayana are reversed it is going to go better or goes to change the direction for good of these companies. The inverted resources until now are going to delay the agony but any plan of reconstruction has not been demonstrated”, commented the economist.

“The estatización is not that by itself she is bad, but comes square with the good politicalization is not. There we have an example, the president of Pdvsa he is the president of the PSUV and is minister, what example gives that, because no”, emphasized Ochoa.

For the economic analyst and answering the central question of the forum, the expropriation is not really the solution to the crisis that is lived in the region, on the contrary “is going to deepen the economic deterioration and the recession of Guayana and is going to take to the workers to realize that the State is to them motando a fraud because not even it has payment capacity”, pointed Ochoa in relation to the limitation in the payment of the list that presents/displays Electrification of the Caroní (Edelca).

“If the government decided to generate a tradition own, equal taking time to form depoliticized managemental pictures. Usually what it is made is to look for foreign partners that they know the technology and the markets, that was what had with Techint and was what it is being hurled”, commented.

“We can deduce correctly that the Government, fruit of a old fashioned, advisable ideology for the concentration of being able, in fact is placing in background the economic consequences than he happens in Guayana through the simple fact to have the political control”, stressed the economist.

The organization of the encounter ran from the Enterprise Alliance of Guayana that includes to the Association of Metallurgical Industrialists and Mining of Venezuela Guayana Chapter (AIMM Guayana), the Camera of Industrialists and Miners of Guayana (CIMG), the Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Caroní (Camcaroní), to Asopemia-Fedeindustria Bolivar and the Network of Small Companies of Guayana.

State control in march

The national Government initiated his race of expropriations in the 2007. The first company in happening at the hands of the State under this figure was the electrical Seneca, followed the Electricity to him of Caracas in February of that year, both of North American capital.

As of that year and under the voice of “it nacionalícese” many are the companies and organizations who have happened to the governmental control, some of most controversial: in May 2007 the National Anonymous Company of Telephones (Cantv); in January of the following year 32 oil fields of Faja of the Orinoco; in March 2008 the company of Milky “The $andes”; in April, the president announced the nationalization of all the cementera industry and the reestatización of Sidor that was in the hands of Ternium.

In which he goes of 2009, the national Executive has tightened the accelerator of the nationalizations and expropriations: rice companies, lands of the multinational wastebasket Smurfit Kappa, the Ports of Maracaibo and Port Hair, Airmail, 60 complementary oil companies in Maracaibo, and one of most recent and directly related to our region, the briquetero sector.
