Are my eyes playing tricks on me? I looked and re-read this paragraph from your post....
"But if this is not possible and the company is forced to seek international arbitration, we want to make a claim for the fair market value of our investment ... which we believe exceeds 5,000 billion dollars."
I see "$5,000 Billion dollars" and not $5 Billion for fair market value... Is this a typo or can it be realistic for fair value? Seems like a typo to me.
There are a many countries that still use a long scale numerical system in which a billion is one million millions. Great Britain actually used this until the 70's I think.
A billion in english does not equal a billion in VZ Spanish. Somewhere in translation things get wonkey.
