The modifications were at the request of MinAmb not the AN. Then Vice Minister Garcia approved the modifications. Kry's position is that the are in compliance with MinAmb with the approval by Garcia thus removing some of the possible reasons for the permit denial. The only remaining reason given by Ortega that I know of is the ban on mining in the rain forest.
If we are only dealing with Ortega's mining ban then it is a matter of time before a permit is issued since both Hugo and Sanz have said there will be mining at LC in 2009. While it isn't possible to begin mining in 2009, I believe they mean the start of construction at LC in 2009.
So here we sit waiting for a permit to start. We have meet the requirements of MinAmb with Garcia's approval. We have a letter stating we are in compliance with CVG. We are near completion of the medical facility and sewage plant that is part of being in good standing. We have a binding contract with CVG and have done nothing that would cause Kry to be in breach of the contract.
I'm not sure what else we can do but wait as the clock ticks down on VZ to the May 28th deadline. We are closer everyday to the end, we just don't know where the finish line is yet.
