Next the 9 of March, the Association of Metallurgical Industrialists and Mining of Venezuela, Guayana chapter (AIMM), will have a new president, because it will be that day when the elections of the union will be realised in which a plate formed by consensus will participate.

Jose Humberto Postiglione, first vice-president of the AIMM Guayana, and candidate to the presidency of the union replacing Gerald Serrao, leads the formula integrated by Leandro Villarroel, candidate to first vice-president; Freddy Siso (secondly vice-president); Jose Morillo (contralor director); Jose Angel Bruzual, Freddy Alexander Rivas, Daniel Machado, Navy To sweep, Susana Gobbo, Juan Sanchis and Pasquale Caputo (main directors); and Lorraine Reynoso, Juan Espinoza and Jose Elías Morillo (substitute directors).

The celebration of the elections, that will take place from the 6:00 of afternoon of Monday in soothes of the AIMM in the Balearic Tower of Alta Vista, will tell on the visit of the president of the union national level, Eduardo Garmendia, as well as of a retinue of the association.

Postiglione, that it accumulates near six years of trade union trajectory in the AIMM, emphasized the importance of this type of internal events starting off of the principle of the alternabilidad, and having like challenges the economic situation of the country that influences in the enterprise dynamics of Guayana, as well as the dilatoriness of the companies of the State with the metallurgical industries of the zone.

“We will make tables of work to formulate plans and objectives based on the commitments that are appearing with the industries that we must confront, because we have the risk of which many of the companies disappear and the idea is to give the consultant's office them to avoid that they colapsen”, emphasized.

Diminished sector
In the fourth trimester, the manufacturing industry was contracted 0.1%, reason why in global terms, the little push of the sector allowed a growth him throughout the 2008 of 1.4%, significant figure inferior to 7.2% of growth of the 2007.

The candidate to the presidency of the AIMM Guayana emphasized the insolvency that has had the main dependent clients of the metalmecánico sector of the State with the SMEs of Guayana, which is going to impel a greater deceleration “than we must confront with greater productivity to be able to leave more before possible this crisis”.

Postiglione considers that the loss of the raw materials and petroleum constitute “coletazo” of the international crisis, because in his opinion, the crisis of the industries of Guayana is old and is product of the managemental and administrative policies that “are not adapted”.

It assured that they will reinforce the approach with the public sector to prop up the development of the sector.
