Caracas, Mar. 01 ABN .- In order to exercise stricter control on production, exploitation and industrialization of the diamond in the country, the government will reactivate the plant and Guaniamo Uairén of Santa Elena, Bolivar State, the Minister announced People's Power for Basic Industries and Mining (Mibam), Rodolfo Sanz.

The government official said that this is one of the projects planned by Mibam to turn this year, in addition to the installation of a complex production of bauxite, alumina and primary aluminum, with the capacity to generate about 750 tons of these products.

He recalled, in the case of diamond, that Venezuela was in danger of being punished for several years by the lack of control over the diamond that went to the outside.

"Create a system which will allow us to have more effective control by the state in the market for this important mineral," he said.

As the complex of bauxite, alumina and primary aluminum, located in the Orinoco and Cabruta Caicara in Bolivar State, said that this plant is part of the agreements signed with the Russian Federation and in operation by December this year .

Similarly, among the plans for this year 2009, progress on the strategic development of business-CONIVE Pulpaca (Enterprise Basic Pulp and Paper), which will process the pine Uverito and transform them into paper, as well as Serlaca ( Aluminum Rolling Service) for the production of aluminum.

"The balance of the year was positive from the standpoint of strategic direction and control of deposits of minerals, as well as plans for the industrialization of new industries in the steel, aluminum and gold, and this year we to further these strategic lines, "said Sanz.
