Was most interesting. Lasted from 10 am through at least 4 pm. Will continue (and should be completed) Thursday morning. I had to leave a bit early--around 3:30.

I think it would be better for me not to try to call the result or talk about what went on--except that one thing I think I can say is that the judge was very good. He had read all of the materials that had been submitted (I heard 260 pages mentioned at one point but it looked to me like a lot more) and his questioning of the lawyers seemed to me to indicate that on a good number of points he understood the issues (and the law)better than the lawyers themselves.

I'm sure there are cases where there's a poor judgment because the judge never fully understands the issues. No danger of that here.
