Union leaders demand solutions to the MinTrabajo
Sunday, 18 of January of 2009

They ask that the rescue of the basic companies is procured and that “beyond the policy” solutions occur to the conflicts.

Union leaders of Guayana assure that in spite of the visit of the holder of the Ministry of the Work, Robert Hernandez, to east Guayana Saturday, few was the results to the benefit of the workers, who are living a strong labor confliction worsened by the operative and economic crisis on the companies.

Jose Garci'a, of Bauxilum, expressed that “this meeting does not fill the expectations, the debate subjects designated itself to finger, but what the workers need he is to solve his problems. This is the third time that the minister comes to Guayana City and meanwhile the problems are become serious, is lamentable that this happens”.

On the other hand Manuel Mendoza, secretary of organization of the Union of Mining Workers of Guayana that makes life in Agapov, said that “we needed that they continue making this type of encounter, are many problems with the basic companies”.

Jesus Pine, of the Front Revolutionary of Iron and steel Workers, commented that “this is of extreme importance to see materialized the labor vindications, but the call is to the unit, is necessary to go by the way of the unit”.

Policy versus labor
Certainly the call of this Saturday was welcome, nevertheless nor president of the Unique Union of Workers of the Iron and steel Industry and His Similares (Sutiss), nor other bound representatives of the labor scene with the official current attended. Apparently the cause was the “politicalization” of the event and the discussion of the socialism in a while where the companies require of investments and the working answers to thousands of questions about their benefits.

As far as this Garci'a it was clear in affirming that beyond the policy it must have concrete exits, for him the economy of the region is in risks and while questions struggle that in the end do not bear the fruits waited for the employees, who are in the end the main losers.

Kings Ortiz, Secretary General of the Union of Professionals of Carbonorca, also agrees in the criterion of which the coming of the minister does not bring solutions to the problems in Guayana and for that reason it makes a call to the Ministry of the Work and the Ministry of Basic Industries and Mining so that it defines what is going to do with the basic companies and towards are going where them to take.
