Crystallex International Corporation is a Canadian-based gold company with a successful record of developing and operating gold mines in Venezuela and elsewhere in South America
Hi all - I have been a long time silent as my goals with KRY have changed from short term trading and permit to long term legal resolution, but I have scanned the posts when I can.
I want to add my 2 cents here since I feel the pain (and have for 3 years) of all the PR's and news.
Nothing in Chavez's address precluded the notion of a MOC on any or all of these mines. (yes - I am Spanish fluent and don't use translation software) It only referred to the operational control. Think of it like having a field next to your house that you own and contains gold. You need cash so you sell a concession to your neighbor to extract it. Technically you still own the land but your neighbor owns the gold. You do this when you need cash.
Now consider that you don't need the cash but you lack the expertise to get the gold out so you sign a contract with a company to extract the gold. You still own the land and the gold but you are paying for it's extraction. This is also useful when you also lack sufficient cash to fully exploit your land.
Time passes and now you don't need the cash or you feel the yield will outweigh the need. In the case of the concession you have legal issues so you need to essentially buy back the mineral rights. But you still lack the cash to exploit it so you partner with your buddy who tries to "buy" the concession on the cheap and agrees to exploit it. BUT.... in our scenario it is like you sold half your field as a concession and signed a contract for the other half to exploit the gold. Your buddy now says he can get the concession back but he too lacks the resources exploit it. So he tells you....if you give me 50% ownership of other half of your field I will have the resources to exploit the concession. So you do so but this does NOT change the contract you have with the subcontractor to exploit. It only provides a revenue stream for the 1st half of the field for your buddy to exploit.
The bottom line here is that Chavez said nothing about breaking contracts and setting up a JV for Las Cristinas does not mean he will break the contract since it is unlikely Russoro or any other can fully exploit them. Whether VZ owns LC or a JV Russian/VZ company owns the deposit it does not mean the contract has to change any more than it would if it were my scenario about my field and my buddy.
At the same respect, my buddy (VZ) might tell me that he can only get back my concession if the other guy sells cheap and he will only do so if he thinks I am going to try to steal it and we'll end up in court. Or in the real scenario it is if the shareholders think this. He might say to me to "don't say anything about continuing to honor the contract on your other half of the field because it will make the guys on the concession side ask a higher price".
Is this what is going on? I don't know. What I do know is that money can still be made on KRY. I bought like a mad man at .11 to .14 and I sold half of that when we crossed .30. Those were my "security shares" that I had no intention of holding ong term. Anyone in KRY as long as I and many here knows t his is the way to play it. Buy twice as much as you want on the plunges and sell half on any significant rise. We almost always retrace 100% and if we don't and luck gives us the permit, the shares you sold were still "extra" shares.
Now I'll step back into my shelter. Good luck all.
