Could this be the occasion that Chavez will use to broadcast to the entire country his new mining law ?

I am not talking only about gold but also about the commitment to a business plan which will clarify to" sitting duck companies" where to direct their efforts to comply with the law of the land.

Venezuela to Broadcast by Satellite

Caracas, Jan 6 (Prensa Latina) Venezuela will make its first radio and television transmission through the Simon Bolivar satellite on January 10, announced the minister of science and technology, Nuris Orihuela.

The official pointed out that that day transmission by radio and television will be done by the first Venezuelan satellite, its control of VENESAT-1 Simon Bolivar, launched from China last October.

The ceremony will be held in the Venezuelan land base located in the central state of Guarico with the presence of President Hugo Chavez.

Orihuela explained to Chavez, in a public meeting in the capital theater of Teresa Carreño that same day, pilot programs of tele-medicine and tele-education will be transmitted.

The Simon Bolivar satellite will be used to cover 41.5 percent of health, 20.9 percent of education and 15.9 percent of community work and six percent for programs on food, among others.

Venezuelan authorities indicated that it is a fundamental difference from other satellite systems and gives priority to social use, mostly by the neediest sectors.

More than 300 Venezuelans have been trained, to date, to facilitate access of 500 communities located at distances of difficult access and taking advantage of the technological possibilities of this initiative.
