Isodora has only a few years of reserves left at current mining rates if you believe Hecla's figures (there is no reason to doubt them). La Camorra was virtually worked out, so Rusoro isn't necessarily all that generous in accepting a 50/50 JV considering there is virtually no more major capital expenses required for those mines and it's just a matter of working them until the gold runs out.

If you look at the timing it is interesting that GFI got forced out at the end of last year and Rusoro took over Choco 10 and got all the permits that GFI was unable to get for that mine. Rusoro was able to get Choco 10 and the permits just prior to April this year. At that time Hecla suddenly found they had serious on going "labour issues" and the union got very militant. Also Hecla's applications for permits to explore for further deposits in the area and to expand the Isodora mine were not issued.

At virtually the same time GRZ and KRY ran into their permit blocks.. In hindsight it seems obvious that a deal was done at some high level between Rusoro and the government at about the time RML got control of the Choco 10 mine from GFI and this plot to wrest control of all the gold mines and potential mines was hatched. There is no doubt in my mind it is a scheme promoted by Rusoro as they are the obvious beneficiary and so far all it has cost them is 50% of an almost depleted mine and some toys for the kids and a food hamper for the local indians.
