What does the "collapse of the world economy" have to do with the price of gold except to send its price sky high?

In the Great Depression, the stock Market declined 90%, while the price of Homestake Mining shares quadrupled.
Every day that gold price rises, KRY stock is WORTH MORE, not less. Haven't you noticed, the market is down, and gold is up!and I expect it to break out further.
