One thing makes me wonder about the RML bid for GRZ. GRZ has a concession. HCL had a concession when RML took it over.
KRY does not have a concession.
Could RML involvement merely be a means of getting GRZ's concession back into a 50/50 joint venture? It would circumvent a lawsuit from GRZ. KRY is already in good standing since they have a MOA.
That alone could help explain some of this GRZ/RML fighting and why KRY is on the sidelines.
It also makes sense that GRZ needs to be settled before KRY can advance.
We must remember that KRY is a Canadian company. Canada has had great relations with Cuba in the past so I don't think that Vz will cause Canada much trouble.
The whole political thing that RC talks about could have some merit though. If it is true then it should be addressed.
The problem with addressing it, though, is that if Chavez falls what's to stop the new government calling the KRY deal fowel? I was hoping that KRY could work around the Vz politics.
Besides... if the offending party was involved in the coup attempt then why punnish KRY? They guy was appointed when he was still "clean"
This political angle really doesn't smell right, now that I think about it, and really sounds suspect. KRY got additional approvals long after the coup attempt...if this was such a big deal then why is it only manitesting its self now?
I really think Vz is working to a larger plan:
1) Take care of the small illegal miners
2) Settle the GRZ concession issue via RML
3) Move ahead with the projects (RML + KRY)
That's my theory... don't be suprised if the GRZ/RML thing gets settled quickly.
