President Hugo Chavez, celebrahoy ten years of the first electoral triumph that took the Government, in the middle of a new campaign to promote a constitutional amendment.
Chávez, of 54 years, was chosen President for the first time in December of 1998, ratified in the 2000 in elections necessary to legitimize the positions of popular election after the approval of the new Constitution, and reelected in December of 2006.
Two years ago the charismatic agent chief executive gained the position for a second and last constitutional period of six years with more of the 62 percent of the votes, number that surpassed the results of the three previous elections which it was put under, including referendo to revoke its mandate celebrated in August of 2004.
This Chávez week summoned its followers “to celebrate the 10 years of the victory” with a concentration near soothes of the government, and reiterated its warning on the Renaissance of a “competing facist threat” on Venezuela. Efe
