What a sad story for these people. I like many others have believed that VZ government officials are just incompetent but it is obvious they have no compassion either.

I had thought that they would pay the miners and announce the permit for jobs before the elections. Then we were told there wouldn't be any permit till after the election because the people didn't like transnational companies.

It looks like Sanz gave out checks just before the election to get votes knowing full well there was no money in the account. I no longer think they are incompetent, they know full well what they are doing and it is a disgrace. The government only cares about staying in power.

I'm ashamed to say it but for Kry this is actually a good thing IMHO. Hugo wants to stay in power and if the next vote on it is in a couple months. He can kiss any votes in Bolivar State goodbye unless these people get paid and jobs are created.

I will never invest in a country like VZ again. I wish the VZ people all the best because they are going to need it.
