Cooperative Environmental recovered in areas affected Caroni River

land The Bolivarian Government, through the Ministry of People's Power for
the Environment, promoted the work of 29 cooperatives of the
environmental state of Bolivar, formed by former miners who qualify
after the process of mining, managed to recover 449.5 hectares of
land affected in the Caroni River Basin.

Each of the 29 cooperatives, which bring together about 270 people,
resources received by the order of 200 billion bolivars strong, with
the contribution that each group was able to recover 15.5 hectares of
land.

Pedro Vielma, representative of the commonwealth of environmental
cooperatives in the state of Bolívar, explained that the decree of
stoppage of mining in the Caroni River, began the process of
conversion of the people who exercised mining there, so that ex-
miners the middle and upper Caroni have been playing the work of
recovery and intervention areas affected by mining activity.

The work performed by these environmental groups began with the
realization of nurseries to conclude with the planting of 87 thousand
trees of different species, in turn generating 384 thousand direct
jobs and 200 indirect jobs, including the participation of indigenous
communities in the activities of reforestation.

Today, in Bolivar state, people who were engaged in mining have
formed around 100 cooperatives that can participate in various
conservation programs, which announced the delivery of new projects
