Ciudad Bolivar, Nov 28. ABN .- A total of 12 people arrested was a
result of police action to evict a group of miners who violently took
the facilities of the Airport 'Heres Thomas' Ciudad Bolivar at noon
on Friday, informed the commander of Bolivar Police, Colonel Julio
Cesar Fuentes Manzulli.

The police chief noted that these demonstrators are artisanal miners who are demanding the payment of a bond by the Ministry of People's Power for Basic Industry and Mining (Mibam), corresponding to its buyout of the Caura River Basin and Caroni, which was banned all kinds of gold mining by the national government.

This payment benefits to 6 thousand 072 miners residents in
municipalities Heres, Raúl Leoni, Sifontes, El Callao and Sucre.

However, a small fraction of them have encountered problems to
collect their checks at the Bank of Venezuela, bank selected for the
payment by the Foundation Mission Piar, citing lack of funds, and
others do not appear on lists payment.

At approximately 2:00 pm, the Brigade of Public Order of Police did

Theater of Operations 5 of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces
(Fanbad), Major General Felix Antonio Velasquez, stressed the need to be alert to the presence of persons, not being miners formal intend to charge this bonus offered by the Mibam.
