Opposition party UNT: Troops are preventing closure of polling centers

Leader of political party Un Nuevo Tiempo (UNT) Enrique Márquez denounced "abuses" by the troops of Plan República watching over the electoral centers and voters, in 150 polling centers in Venezuela.

According to Márquez Plan República troops have blocked the closure of balloting centers, even though there are not voters waiting in line to cast their ballots.

"We have been informed that in several hundred polling centers in the country, Plan República is not allowing the closure of polling centers, even though there are no voters waiting in queues, thus failing to accomplish their obligations. Plan República has become a political player at this moment," he said.
