Government bond canceled only to retired miners and Caura watershed of the Caroni
Ciudad Bolivar, Nov 20. ABN .- In keeping with the commitment made with the artisanal miners, who voluntarily agreed to withdraw from the watershed of the Caroni and Caura rivers since 2006, the Ministry of People's Power for Basic Industry and Mining (Mibam) on Thursday canceled the first check for 10 thousand strong bolivars, supplied more than 6 thousand miners in southern Bolivar.
The event, held at the premises of the Park Leonardo Ruiz Pineda, in Ciudad Bolivar, was in charge of the holder of Mibam, Rodolfo Sanz.
He was accompanied by the commander of Military Region Guiana and head of the Theater of Operations 5 of the Armed Forces, Major General Felix Antonio Velasquez, and representatives of the Venezuelan Guayana Corporation (CVG).
During the ceremony the checks were delivered to residents in municipalities miners Heres, Sifontes and El Callao.
For this Friday will continue to pay in the town of La Paragua, where the bonds will be honored only to miners residents in municipalities Raúl Leoni and Sucre.
The minister Sanz said that this is the demonstration of compliance with the Revolutionary Government with a large group of men and women who are leaving the gold mining to convert to other productive activities, with support from the state.

In this regard, the minister Rodolfo Sanz also handed in this event a first disbursement of 236 million bolivars strengths corresponding to 46 approvals to service cooperatives, agricultural and tourism made up of ex-miners in the municipalities Heres and Raúl Leoni.
During the period the process of conversion work, the miners enjoyed a monthly bonus that enabled them to survive with dignity with their families, in exchange for the immediate stoppage of their tasks in gold and diamonds, the main cause of the destruction of these basins.
As of the closing process, the government pledged with them to cancel a unique bond of 10 thousand strong bolivars at the end of the process of conversion, with the commitment not to break into illegal mining in this environmentally sensitive area.
