Sorry, but this conversation is a bit off. You all seem to be talking about a tortious interference with contract claim. You have to prove that the third party took affirmative steps to interfere with the contract to get damages, which could be up to the value of the contract.

Not a slam dunk though, as the the primary party (i.e. VZ) can break a contract and award it to a third party, and without interference proven only the primary party has liability.
