Caracas. - President Hugo Chavez and the Russian deputy prime minister, Igor Sechin, evaluated this Thursday the bilateral relations and promised to narrow the binational cooperation in an encounter of preparation for a next visit of Russian agent chief executive Dmitri Medvedev.

“We are satisfied with the level reached in our political dialogue, we can say that our relations are acquiring the character of strategic partners”, Sechin, accompanied of Chávez in the government palace said.

It added that the almost half hundred of projects that are discussing in Caracas within the framework of the Intergovernmental Commission of Russia-Venezuela High level, “is going to be very useful for both parts”.

The encounter comprises of the preparations of the first visit that a Russian governor to Venezuela will realise.

“The 26 of November it will happen something historical here, (it will arrive) the first Russian president who visits Venezuela”, Chávez in a work meeting declared.

Hours before Venezuelan vice-president Ramon Reedbeds indicated that “the relation between Russia and Venezuela is a constructive relation, oriented towards the development, and the growth”.

Venezuelans and Russians discuss details in at least 46 agreements and of an ample variety of projects of tie association with the civil industry, construction of ships, of vehicles, education, culture, mining, energy, finances and telecommunications, mentioned Reedbeds.

The visit of Sechin is second that realises east civil servant in two months and it takes place days before also the awaited arrival of four ships of the Russian fleet to execute joint military maneuverses in the Venezuelan Caribbean.

The United States and Colombia have indicated certain nervousness by the military practices.
