Restructured Ministry of Mines to strengthen the productive sector
La Paz, Oct 15 (ABI) .- The cabinet of the government of President Evo Morales on Wednesday approved a decree to restructure the Ministry of Mining and Metallurgy for strengthening the productive sector mining.
With the creation of two deputy, one of Productive Development and Mining Metallurgical Mining and Management of Social Policy, is intended to address the social problems of mining cooperatives, in addition to accommodate the National Development Plan (NDP) government, they announced Minister of Mining and Metallurgy, Luis Alberto ECHAZU.
"These two deputy have the function of solving the fundamental problems of social and mining cooperatives, then in this way to answer with precision, not only in production, development of mining operations, the operators but also from social problems, "said ECHAZU at a press conference in Palacio Quemado.
Each Department shall consist of two directorates: the Directorate General of Productive Development and the Directorate General of the Environment and Public Consultation for the Vice Ministry of Productive Development Metallurgical Mining.
In the case of the Vice Ministry of Social Policy and Management Mining, will be created the General Directorates of Mining Policy and Social Management and Mining Cooperatives.
"This is the new decree has been approved and is going to help much, because in the past governments had no sovereignty in the area of natural resources, or hydrocarbon, or mining, so we just starting the production control of the Export of enterprises operating in trade in minerals and support to those sectors, "he said.
ECHAZU stressed that the government of President Evo Morales have recovered productive functions of the COMIBOL, as well as the incorporation of new areas in the steel, with the contract of Mutún, and the evaporites with the pilot plant being built in the Salar de Uyuni.
