Governor of Bolivar intercedes in conflict miners

Ciudad Bolivar, 22 Sep. ABN .- The governor of Bolivar state, Francisco Rangel Gomez, announced his brokerage before the national Government to achieve a solution to the claim that remain for several days about 6 thousand miners demanding payment of a compensatory bonus for having ceased practice of illegal mining in the Caroni River.

The meeting raised the recent actions of closing down streets and avenues of the capital bolivarense, carried out by miners demanding payment.

It was suggested that the protest was due to the delayed Mibam to cancel what was agreed to 6 thousand miners desincorporados of most municipalities Raúl Leoni and Sucre.

Rangel Gomez recalled that this area lies part of Lake Guri and has beautiful jungles, in addition to a major agricultural activity, which can serve as a basis for ecotourism and adventure tourism.

'We are ready to deliver, as we have done previously, production credits through the fund Bolivar for the promotion of agriculture, fisheries and tourism in this area, "he said.

He also noted that the state government inaugurated next October 8 a new water treatment plant in this town and deliver school supplies to children from indigenous and rural communities, among other initiatives to improve the quality of life of the people formerly dependent on mining.
