The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez, will arrive in China within the next few hours for a state visit during which he will close the Seventh Meeting of the High Level Joint Commission between the two nations and will meet with President of the Republic China, Hu Jintao.

The visit, the fifth president of the Asian country, will coincide with the meeting of the Joint High-level in six years has completed 79 mega production in Venezuela.

The Venezuelan president's agenda also includes meetings with Chinese vice president, Li Keqiang, governor of the Development Bank of China, Chen Yuan, and senior officials of the National Assembly of this country.

Also planned is a meeting with representatives of key Chinese firms in the gigantic leap that has experienced the bilateral relationship, both from a business point of view as in other areas of cooperation.

Venezuela and China established diplomatic relations 34 years ago, but it is only since 2001 when cooperation has developed rapidly.

The commercial exchange, which was located at 200 million dollars in 1998, grew exponentially since 2003 when it reached 742 million dollars.

In 2004 was 1333 million dollars, 2141 million in 2005, 4319 million in 2006 and 5800 million dollars in 2007. It is estimated that 2008 closed above the 8,000 million dollars, with a balance favorable to Venezuela.

Among the companies participating in the 79 mega projects or interested in new investments contained in the oil and mining: the National Petroleum Corporation of China, Sinopec Corp and China Metallurgical Group Corporation.

In the area of telecommunications are ZTE, Huawei and Alcatel Shanghai. Also Citic Group (housing), Inspur (computers).

Chinese companies are developing or conducting studies to realize energy projects in converting oil fields, quantification of reserves, supplies, purchase of drills, possible construction of refineries, petrochemical products, among others.

"Certainly the trade has been increasing significantly, however there is also scope in other areas: China is supporting us in the field railway, on the development of the irrigation system for agricultural activity nationally, is also supporting us in issues related to science technology, "said Planning Minister Haim The Troudi, who chairs the Joint Commission for Venezuela.

As part of the Seventh Conference and the visit of President Chavez will be signed some 30 new cooperation agreements to join the 249 already signed since 1999.

For his part, Venezuelan Minister of Light Industries and Commerce, William Contreras, who also participates in the meeting, highlighted among the mega cell plant in partnership with the Chinese state firm ZTE, which will be operational in the first week of November and Factory equipment appliance with the Haier group whose joint venture will be signed at this time.

As for new projects enumerated the installation of another factory in cellular and new railway ventures.

Contreras highlighted as key in this cooperation "the commitment of the Chinese government to assure the transfer of technology and knowledge related to their experience in different product areas."

"For no one is doubting the strength of China and their sense of cooperation and collaboration to secure and put all his experience in the construction of the production process and socialism in Venezuela," the Venezuelan minister of Light Industry and Commerce.

"This is the fifth visit of President Hugo Chávez to China: 1999, 2001, 2004, 2006 and 2008, this shows that relations between China and Venezuela are developing rapidly in all aspects: political, economic, commercial, cultural, tourism, sports, science and technology, "noted for his part Professor Xu Shicheng, the Institute for Latin American Studies of the Academy of Social Sciences of China.

Also within the framework of the visit of President Chavez, the vice president of the Chinese company Inspur, Junqiang Wang, who is participating in the joint venture of Bolivarian computers, said it was negotiating to establish a fleet of technical development in Venezuela.
