It is always positive to see SP appreciation particularly in the absence of any kind of news, but always remember that volume is the key. I would further state that for SP appreciation to occur there needs to be more aggressive buyers then sellers for the price to be on the rise. SO, if you have positive SP appreciation coupled with greater then average volume (say the 50DMA vol) then it would suggest something is up. We retail investors will always be last to know. At present while volume is good, it would not be, in my mind, the kind of volume that suggest a permit, but I could be wrong. In fact, I hope I am. It may be just speculation with buyers not wanting to be out over the weekend (including Monday which is a holiday) just in case. I for one will take the SP appreciation and hope it closes on the high for the day with an increase in volume. Did I say that Volume is the Key!
