Russia, Venezuela to Mine Together
By Jorge Petinaud
Moscow, Jun 28 (Prensa Latina) Russia and Venezuela are moving
towards the creation of joint ventures in their mining industries,
said Venezuela Deputy Minister of Basic Industry Jesus Paredes.
In remarks to journalists before leaving for Caracas, Paredes
described as very fruitful his visit to Russia as part of a
delegation led by Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian
Republic, Ramon Carrizales.
"We see bright prospects for the creation of joint ventures to
produce dishes, hydro paints and ceramics from the exploitation of
feldspar and kaolin in the state of Bolivar, Venezuela," Paredes
added.
The Venezuelan official expressed satisfaction with talks held in
this regard with the Roskaolin business, which belongs to the Russian corporate group Agapov.
"We hope several agreements of interest for both parties can be
signed during President Chavez coming visit to Russia," Paredes said to Prensa Latina.
He cited the preparation of the next meeting of the High Level
Intergovernmental Commission as an important issue in the bilateral agenda discussed during his visit.
