Boss Kent, I wasn't trying to make this an "us versus them" argument; I was just trying to report the point of view that Doug seemed to be expressing.
GRZ spent a fair bit of cash on preliminary engineering and projections for a combined LC, Brisas project before LC was awarded to KRY. They missed out in 2002 but they thought it was worth the try at the time when proposals were requested and the data they produced is still in MIBAM records. I don't think that GRZ brought this up again. The initiative obviously came from someone in MIBAM, but that only really means that it's an option being considered, not that it has overwhelming support.
GRZ hasn't sold their equipment yet because it seems that they are still hopeful of a resolution and selling both of their mills would put them back 2 or 3 years. One suggestion Doug made is that they may sell one of the two 35k tpd mills and keep one which would allow a quick start at a lower throughput.
It does seem curious however that MIBAM would approach GRZ to discuss a combined project without doing the same with KRY. Maybe they have and KRY just haven't said anything about it.
