While I am reluctant to post because I received 4 "1 stars" because I made inquiries that people didn't want to consider, I speculate the following:

The context makes it clear that they are referring to the watershed which is the entire drainage area (as an aside, there has been reference to LC proximity to the Cuyuni River - everyone should be aware that the river runs East/West above the property and North/South to the west of the property);

In the article, there is no confusion regarding the "wooded areas," the sentence structure in the article reflects that the sylvan/wooded references the Imataca earlier in the sentence. "Even though a part of the Forest Reserve Imataca is in the river basin of the Cuyuní, the vice-minister asserted that to protect the vegetal lung guayanes, in that sylvan zone mining activities will not be allowed."

I know that there are a lot of very smart people that post here, but it seems that there is confusion regarding my motives. I want to make clear that I am heavily invested in KRY. My position has always been optimistic for a permit. I have held various option positions which have periodically expired, always buying more expecting the permit "just around the corner." In addition to my 10's of thousands of commom shares I currently hold just under 1000 option contracts with various strike prices/dates with buy orders in for more. I make my recent inquires because 1) I finally had a little time to do a little more in depth research, and I would like to contribute to the wealth of known information disseminated on this board; and 2) I am an attorney, and although I've never practiced it, my "concentration" (equivalent to a major) in law school was in environmental law. As such I wanted to utilize my expertise to better inform the board.

I'm sorry that my exploration of the issues offended so many, but I don't really need to justify my existence by the rankings of a stock website.
