THE UNIVERSAL ONE
Managers of the Mining Camera of Venezuela (Camiven) denounced the paralyzation of the auriferous projects the Cristinas and the Breezes, located to the south of the country.
In April of this year the Ministry of the Atmosphere revoked the environmental permissions necessary to continue the works associated to those projects, informed Gilberto Sanchez, president of the camera.
It remembered that the State granted a contract in 2002 to operate the Cristinas, under public licitation; and in the case of Breezes it gave the concession thirteen years ago. “Today the projects are paralyzed, without knowing their destiny, when the companies have already disbursed and it jeopardize $350 million, for an investment $1 superior to millardo”.
This signal of the Ministry of the Atmosphere has gone in “opposed sense to the one to cause a harmonic and viable development of the sector, preventing with happened norms, the development of new deposits and projects that already have been approved, fulfilling all effective legal norm”.
Camiven, in a diagnosis expressed in a table of sectorial work in just concluded assembly of Fedecámaras, notices the existence of “conflicts of competition between the Ministry of Basic Industries and Mining (Mibam) and the governments in relation to some minerals metalists and industrialists, not causing situations of the double taxation and duplication in the application of the norms”.
Also the absence of agreement” between Basic Atmosphere and Industries and Mining detects that organization “, that “prevents the development of this industry and the resolution of conflicts”.
The divergences between companies and workers must be solved by the competent organisms, referred Sanchez. “Different Attitudes stimulate that some individuals of office look for the intervention of the State in the deprived companies, subject that is avoidable between the parts. A dialogue between the Government, the companies and the workers must be reached”.
Without modification
The Camera reiterated in its report that a property structure as the established one for the oil industry “is not applicable to the mining sector, by the economy of its projects, the risk and the same nature of this activity. That scheme would not take it to a sustainable development”.
The creation of mixed, propose companies by the Government like unique via so that the private sector participates in the mining extractive industry, does not adjust to the particular dynamics of the sector. Empresarialque indicated the organism in the encounter “is not necessary to create a new Law of Mines, when it is sufficient to apply the present one”.
