President Chavez signed five agreements with Portugal

The first MOU was signed between the Ministry of People's Power for Telecommunications and Informatics of Venezuela and the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Communications of the Portuguese Republic, with the aim of promoting cooperation in telecommunications, computers and mail services in the field of competition on both sides, through the development of initiatives for exchanging experiences.
The second is a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of People's Power for Housing and Habitat of Venezuela and the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Communications of Portugal, for housing construction in Venezuelan territory, which allows installed in our country, a plant for prefabricated housing construction, with a programme of technical assistance, technology transfer, manpower training and certification of equipment.
It also signed a contract for the execution of work between Port S. Central Coast A., and the consortium formed by Teixeira Duarte Engenharía construction and S. A., Mota Engil Engenharía construction and S. A., and construction Engenharía Lena S. A. and building and construction Pires Coelho Fernandes, S. A., which aims to implement the project to expand and modernize the port of La Guaira.
This project has an estimated cost of 658.4 million dollars and corresponds to the first phase of the project conceptual engineering, basic and detail, for the expansion and modernization of the port, including geotechnical studies and environmental impact, with a cost of $ 9.1 million.
The second contract comes to an execution of work between the Ministry of People's Power for Environment and the company Teixeira Duarte Engenharía and construction, S. A., to run the dam Dos Bocas and waterworks; harnessing the basins of Los Cerritos, Yacambu Dos Bocas and for supplying potable water to the cities of Barquisimeto and Acarigua-Araure and for flood control.
This contract is intended to perform additional testing of local geotechnical exploration of the dam, construction of diversion tunnel and detailed engineering for the dam and ancillary works, with a total of $ 70 million investment.
It was finally signed a contract for the supply of medicines to the network and care of Venezuela, which shall comply with the letter of intent signed during the visit of Prime Minister José Sócrates our country and provides for the supply of medicines by 6 Portuguese laboratories, totalling 20 million euros.
