Unfortunately it's not really good news. It's limited to Fanny and Freddie stock and a few other financials and primary brokers. In other words they are making an already illegal trading activity, illegal again at least for a coule of stocks that are near to their hearts.
It's business as usual for illegal naked shorting of anything else as far as I can see.
Usual SEC consistency and fairness. Rules only apply to the unconnected and where they need to be enforced to protect the establishment. Everyone else is fair game for the naked shorts, who of course are the same guys being naked shorted themselves and need protection from each other!!
