In the past when Hugo Chavez was nationalizing the oil sector he gave a compensation figure to these companies after about a week. Since, Chavez has not offered us any compensation package- however minor it is- suggests he may have other plans for this area i.e. mining. Coupling this fact to the dispute between the ministry of enviroment and mibam may further point to the idea that mining is still a go in the area.
It may be interesting to keep note of the oil sector auction of properties. After everthing that has occurred in Venezeula I would hope Venezeula gets the message from private compaines that they are really not that interested in investing in your country. Since, why invest in your oil region if all that happens is the country take it over in a couple years.
Like all investor in KRY. My future investment in this country would be very limited.
