Rangel Gomez will face a candidate of unity

After the first bulletin issued by the CNE, the PSUV already has candidates for 17 governorates in the country and settled with the picture in the metropolitan area, where Aristóbulo Istúriz won 94% of the votes. In the current Bolivar state governor Francisco Rangel Gomez was done to overcome the nomination by more than 15% of their nearest opponent Manuel Arciniegas.
The national leadership of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) last night announced the preliminary results of primaries for the party's choice of candidates for governors and mayors in the country.
Before the National Electoral Council (CNE) had informed the country about this process comicial based on 70% of minutes tellers and the most voted candidates.
The vice president of the PSUV, Alberto Muller Rojas, said he has been "very comforting" the assessment of international observers, particularly as regards the short time with which to prepare told the process. "The CNE, to prepare an election, normally takes four months, we did in three weeks," he said.
Muller took advantage to congratulate the militants of the party and all the people of Venezuela by allowing the peaceful development of these elections.
Scenarios
To be elected candidate of the PSUV, candidates must obtain half of the votes plus one or having an advantage of at least 15% compared to its closest contender.
In case of failure to fulfil either of these two conditions, the leadership of PSUV Chavez or the president himself will decide the nominations. It is hoped that next Thursday the final results are announced.
After choosing their candidates, the PSUV must agree with its partner organizations, the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) and Patria Para Todos (workers), how the electoral alliance will be implemented.
On the other side, a dozen opposition parties intends to choose candidates unit by consensus or, if not achieve, through opinion polls, and should be announced in June. (With information from AP / AFP)
