Thanks for the link. Good reporting!
I will be attending the Annual General Meeting in Toronto – June 25th . If you have questions for me to present, I would appreciate hearing from you.
I am in agreement with the view expressed by Gil that KRY and GRZ are in negotiations with the Venezuelan Mining Ministry’s Rudolfo Sanz. What kind of “negotiations”? In my opinion, I think the Mining Ministry may be trying to force a merger between the two Companies – if I recall correctly, a desire expressed by some Venezuela Ministers in previous reports in 2007. If this is correct, and a merger ensues, PRIOR to issuing the KRY PERMIT, KRY will be slaughtered in the arrangement! If a merger AFTER a KRY PERMIT, allowing KRY share price to reach fair market value, a merger might be acceptable.
But negotiations may also involve the fact that GRZ has a CONCESSION (which gives it ownership of the land), where as KRY has a Mining Operating Agreement (MOA), a contract to mine with the CVG. Venezuela wants no further Concessions issued. Perhaps they want all Concessions to become MOA’s. We await the passage of the New Mining Law which will not affect KRY, but, more than likely, it will affect GRZ. Is this also why GRZ is put in limbo?
But IT’S NOT ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT. That is just a smoke screen!
Both KRY and GRZ are Canadian companies. Canada and Venezuela have a Trade Treaty in effect which offers them protection from any expropriation. I trust our Canadian Ambassador is involved in the “negotiations”.
I welcome corrections to the above opinions I have expressed. My thanks to all on this Board! VLADA
