It's all pretty clear to me. Although Ortega's big mouth was not favorable, she did bring badly needed attention to the area. This issue now becomes a yes or no situation. With the VZ holding most of the high cards, they so not hold them all. With their oil production coming down quarterly, their revenue stream is dependent on the price of sour crude. That price will come down.

VZ has huge commitments to some rather large social issue's that Hugo needs to remain in favor.

No open pit mining, oh sure let's build housing and commercial building without cutting down our precious trees. Where are they going to get the ore to use in the huge steel project. That is also open pit mining.

Don't destroy the environment. that has already been done. The mining companies are the only hope in the near future that will restore these areas.

This is all about the money. Now is the time for patients and understanding. Keep the big stick in the corner for now.
