Just re-read this.

The references to Crystallex are:

1. That miners, who shut the road down, live in one of the towns renovated with Crystallex money.

2. Reference to the ongoing disagreement between the small miners and KRY. This has been known for a long time and should not be a surprise - the small miners need to leave in order to build the mine.

It goes on to say the miners were given 24 hours to leave. It sounds like they were packed up, but no one came to evict them and give thme there 15,000 strong Bolivars. The order was given by a local official the 'public prosecutor of Santa Elena'.

The miners were very confused:

3. They went to the gates of the KRY mine to get an answer of what was up. The guards there said they did not give the order and knew nothing.

They close the road down.

Later - confirmed that there were no evacuations. The people were ticked for getting pushed back and forth the military needed to come in and calm stuff down.

4. The last reference is to the effect that there is a lot of gold in the ground, that has yet to be developed. It goes on to say, this situation came about because there are no specific boundaries established and the government has not made a decision on the development of the mine.

Does not sound like a Chavez ploy. Sounds like a local official is hearing something other than what the Ministry of Environment was saying. It could be that CVG and Ministry of Environment are at odds.
