Hoal from Mexico JC. Got a chance to log on and see a great day today. I've been out all day touring some Mexican manufacturing plants and tonight I teach my seminar seminar Spanish version. Nice to get a sur[rise but I agree with the sentiment that this most likely non news leak short covering.
Yesterday was a fluke created by a "market on close sell imbalance". These orders to buy or sell are entered only before 20 minutes prior to close. They will try to get you the best price at the market at the close but if there is an imbalance the close can be skewed one way or another. I have used them occaisionally and they are rarely entered out of fear or greed but rather to just ensure an exit. Since KRY has a tendency to spike at days end these could easily have been day traders trying to use that phenom. I doubt they expected an imbalance nor did they expect such a low spike, but when the MM pulls the regular bids and asks in the last minutes, the market on close orders have to take what is left open.
