I've been lurking on KRY for a couple of weeks reading what has been going on and wondering if it’s a good time to get in. I usually hangout and post on the Aurelian site (ARU). Similar issues just a different stock. I'm what you would call a cautious investor in high risk stock (if there is such a beast).
I agree that the political defeat in the referendum puts pressure on the government to do 'something' substantive for the working class to rebuild support. A large mining development would certainly boost employment in a demographic section that supports him. So I suspect that the permit announcement will be made soon. My experience in Latin American countries suggest that this would be post Christmas since there would be little time between now and when the country will be shut down for Christmas for Chavez to leverage/spin ‘his’ story.
My question has to do with KRY having clear title to the deposit. I suspect it’s been dealt with here a long time ago but in doing Google searches I see postings through 2001 to 2006 over the disputed ownership/title and then nothing. So, when the permit is issued are we likely to see another rash of lawsuits or has the title issue be put to rest? I see the upside of the permit but does anyone see any potential downside pressures post permit that should be considered that hasn't been priced into the share price already? No negativity intended. I just want to know what my risks are before I plunk down my money.
Thanks
