As a populist...Chavez is relying on securing the votes of the poor, uneducated masses with promises of handouts.  I would guess that the perception these people have of the "Cuban model" is skewed to say the least.  I just hope that the people that know better turn out in force to vote.  I wonder if what the press reports are true...that the pool of anti-Chavez voters will not turn out because they feel the elections are rigged.
