Cougar Minerals begins drilling at PFG/Bill
2010-02-16 11:44 ET - News Release
Mr. Mike Elson reports
COUGAR STARTS RICE LAKE DRILLING
Cougar Minerals Corp. has commenced drilling on the PFG/Bill property, located six kilometres east of San Gold Corp.'s Rice Lake mine and 4.5 kilometres east of the high-grade Hinge zone, near Bissett, Man. A minimum of 2,000 metres of drilling is anticipated for the current drill program. In addition to testing targets on the PFG/Bill property, the nearby Conley property will be drilled, as recommended in the September, 2009, National Instrument 43-101 technical reports on these properties. These reports are available on the company's website.
On the Conley property, drilling through the ice of Wallace Lake will attempt to confirm shallow historic drill intercepts, including nine feet grading 0.63 ounce per ton gold and three feet grading 4.02 ounces per ton gold from drilling in the 1930s, and will further attempt to trace this mineralization to depth. There has been no follow-up work in this part of the Conley property since the 1930s-era drilling.
On the PFG/Bill property, drilling will test the downdip extension of the Salerno and Manifold zones, which were exposed by stripping during the company's 2009 work program. Drilling will also test geological and structural targets near the Salerno and Ruby-Romano showings.
The drilling program is being carried out under the supervision of Linda Caron, MSc, PEng, an independent qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101. Wynne Drilling of Bissett, Man., is the drill contractor. Drill core is NQ size and assaying will be performed by TSL Analytical Laboratory in Saskatoon.
