COUGAR OPTIONS GROUND NEAR SAN GOLD

April 9, 2009 – Cougar Minerals Corp. – COU: CNSX (“Cougar” or the “Company”),
has entered into an option agreement with Outback Capital Inc. [Outback], whereby, in
consideration of the payment $10,000.00 [paid] and the issuance of 500,000 common shares
at a deemed value of $0.10 per share, the Company may elect to acquire a 100% interest in
14 mineral claims [the Outback Claims] totalling 8,779 hectares in the Bissett area of
Manitoba. By giving notice to Outback within one year, and payment of further annual option
payments of $25,000, $50,000 and $70,000 by April 30 of 2010, 2011, and 2012,
respectively, Cougar will earn a 100% interest in the claims.
>
The claims are located approximately 7 km. east of the historic Rice Lake Mine operated by
San Gold Corporation in the prolific Rice Lake greenstone belt of south-east Manitoba,
located approximately 100 km. west of Red Lake, Ontario. San Gold's Rice Lake gold project
includes two mines feeding the 1250 ton per day Rice Lake mill and several new discoveries
including the high-grade Hinge Zone discovered in 2008. San Gold has commenced underground
development of the Hinge Zone [news release April 8, 2009]. Individual under-ground
face grades have assayed up to 2.52 oz/ton gold over a true width of 12 ft. in drifts at depths
of 350 feet from surface in the Hinge Zone.
Cougar is planning an aggressive surface exploration program followed by diamond drilling in
2009 on the Outback claims.
