Looks like CGP is out of hibernation at last. They seem to have redirected their energy to the Canadian Maritimes, leaving Ecuador behind (perhaps).
I don't think they've given up on Ecuador just yet. They've simply done what any good company would do under the circumstances. To their credit, they had a plan B, C and even D waiting in the wings. This is a better business model than throwing everything at a single project within a single jurisdiction.
The best indication of the value of their approach is the participation in the latest financing.
from their June 10 news release (my emphasis)
Participants in the private placement include Global NR Holding SA, a Luxembourg-based holding company which is controlled by the Lundin family of the Lundin Mining Group, and Exploration Capital Partners, which is controlled by the Rule Family Trust. Mr. Doug Casey of Casey Research participated personally. Other investors include some long time Cornerstone shareholders and several high net worth accredited investors who are investing in Cornerstone for the first time. Cornerstone wishes to welcome the new shareholders and to express appreciation to all shareholders for their continued trust and confidence.
This is a major vote of confidence, IMO, and for that reason I continue to hold (and to hold my breath, since like yourself, I'm underwater on this one...heh).
