I bought CGP because I needed a junior mining stock to round things out. Yes, it was the rather small capitalization that really appealed to me and I ended up picking CGP for exactly the same attributes you mentioned. Yes, it Ecuador that lead me to this pick, since I was already an ARU investor (that is before all the politcal issues came to the head).
At this point, I am willing to sit on it for a while to see how things turn out. I basically pssed the point of no return as far as bailling out is concern. Like they say on all under performing investments - "I am in this for the long haul".
By the way, I always have this notion that the CGP Newmont alliance is all about ARU. My theory is that Newmont is interested in ARU and needed a "launching pad" in Ecuador - an agent sort of who knows all the local connections and how things are done, etc. - and CGP fits the bill. If so, it would be interesting to how CGP may beneft from this arrangement. Also, one of the posters on the ARU BB mentioned meeting Marla (the ARU IR person) in a trade show and she also mentioned Newmont as "very interesting".
Specualtion and hope, isn't that what investing in juniors are all about?
