On Friday WTI oil closed at $93.65 per barrell.

Yet the price of regular gasoline at the pumps across Canada ranges from $1.25 to $1.35 in most cities (add another 10 cents or so for premium fuel).

I can recall driving across Canada in late August/early September 2005 and gas prices had shot up into that same neighbourhood but it was based on oil spiking to $140 per barrel.

I know there are other factors in gasoline prices (taxes, refinery costs and summer driving season to name a few -- although the latter seems like another excuse to gouge), but something is out of whack. Must be nice profits in there for gasoline producers.
