Foxy, after I posted that I went over to SI and saw a bunch there had already retorted over there to YM's post here, along the same lines as I posted above

I have somewhat of a background in IT so I am familiar with the technical aspects of achieving that result. The mental aspects of doing that are strange to me. Personally, I never did understand why people even care about post ratings, votes, etc. Prestige on an internet forum is a useless thing to pursue.

What I (and I imagine almost everyone else) value are posters who present facts, genuine information, and do an honest, neutral appraisal of their view of the situation. People like Chops, Chappy and Prospekt are among the best here. Over at SI, explorationguy posts some of the most balanced views.

I'm no expert, just hoping to make some money here...and that prospect appears to grow more dim every day...but I'm in the stubbornly holding on boat.
