Mr. Robert Fife, Ottawa Bureau Chief, CTV News
Dear Mr. Fife:
I am most concerned about today's CTV news report about Senator Brazeau's housing allowance. He allegedly receives a $20,000 housing allowance due to the location of his "principal residence" in Maniwaki, though he rents a home in Gatineau with his girlfriend. I became even more curious when your news team interviewed several neighbours near his "principal residence" who stated that only the Senator's father lives there,
In the spirit of transparency and accountablity to the Canadian taxpayers, I would very much welcome CTV conducting a thorough investigation as to the appropriateness of this $20,000 housing allowance, similar to the revealing searchlight cast across Cabinet Minister Bev Oda's luxurious travel spending. Just imagine what $20,000 could do for some of Canada's most vulnerable citizens at this time of year!
Lastly, I would also welcome a greater understanding as to why Senator Brazeau has the lowest reported attendance in the Senate!
Thank you and CTV in advance for your efforts on behalf of the Canadian taxpayers. I very much look forward to an update on this issue.
