The ESM, rescue mechanism of the European union, can now be passed into law. Germany has not voted it down. This was a major vote and could have derailed all sorts of things. For some reason if the vote had gone in the wrong way it was said, "World stock markets could collapse, [triggering] the beginning of a global economic crisis."

Personally I find that quote sort of funny because I thought we were in a global economic crises.

This could be the moment that things finally turn around in Europe and maybe we can stop worrying about them.
