I guess this is a positive sign in BC mining and ensuring political stability by enabling a safe mining jurisdiction in Canada.
Environmental assessment review less vigorious and demanding
The easing on these assessments would indicate a pro-mining country, and promote a welcoming invite to resource development in Canada. This news should be a breathe of fresh air to resource investors looking for politically safe mining countries to throw thier money in :)
BC politics seem to want a pro-mining reputation as the economic benefit and growth aspect are too good to pass up. This belief is backed by the federal policy changes in assessing environmental reviews. Of course we still care about the environment but why not satisfy both needs of profit for economic growth in resource development and environmental sustainability......after all, Canada is known for their natural resources, thats how we make our money through G.D.P in this country.
