Take a look at some of the life insurance companies such as Great West, Sun Life, Manulife, etc. They are pretty beat up and they yield 5 or more percent right now. Power Corp also yields around 5%. But be sure to do your DD; I am currently NOT in any one of these stocks, just monitoring and their yield sure look attractive compared to bank deposits; and there is a good chance of capital appreciation, I believe. But like I said, be sure to do your DD.
